Snow Day #1

The day I returned from Houston was the first day it snowed in Vegas. The funny thing was, the day I arrived in Houston it was snowing for the first time in years! Of course, we played in and tasted the snow. My question was and is, should I worry about my grapefruits? Will the continue to ripen if I pick them? I don't think they need much longer...Did I ruin them by not picking them this day? I have no idea!!!

Umm...sort of. We have had the citris trees for a while, but the first year we had fruit was last year and it was just a few limes, then this year these show up. It is actually kind of funny because we couldn't remember which trees were which and which ones we bought. I knew I had bought a lime tree and a grapefruit tree, but I couldn't remember the third. So at first we thought they were lemons, then once the got bigger and they were the wrong shapes we thought they were oranges, and then they got even bigger and a little riper and we realized they were grapefruits! We only have them on one of the two grapefruit trees. Weird, huh? Oh, and no limes this year! We had fruit on the mystery tree, but it fell off in a wind storm while it was really young.
