Utah!

Two weekends ago we took a quick trip to Utah. It was a nice mini vacation. I went shopping with my sister, David went hiking and we went to a baby blessing. It was a great 3 day weekend. :) These first pictures are from David's hike. He is preparing to go hunting for the first time in October. The kids also had a blast playing with their cousins. Jake and Spencer may be a year apart, but they are two peas in a pod! In all fairness Spencer also thinks Alexa is the coolest person ever and he still talks about their dog A.J.

The way it always goes...

So, of course, the day after my last post, Spencer finally started to get better. In fact , though I am not going to say this too loud, I think he's finally potty trained! We were with some friends at Burger King and I was just about at the end of my rope with him as he was yet again throwing tantrums and drving me crazy, and he up and tells me he needs to go potty. What?!? It had been weeks since I had heard those words out of his mouth! So I summoned up my last bit of patience and walked with him to the bathroom, because, of course, you can't NOT take him. Sure enough, he went! Not only that, but he hasn't had an accident since! He has even told me when he needs to poop, which was our biggest struggle before. We'll see if this streak continues. Of course, I missed preschool sign-ups on Saturday because I was beginning to think he was never going to potty train! Oh well. I think I am going to sign him up for some random fun little classes and we will worry about preschool next year! As for my long week....I THINK it is finally over, but again I am not going to hold my breath!

Frustrations!

It's official, my boys are crazy! Okay, mostly just Spencer, but still. As I type he is in Jaxon's crib and jumping up and down despite my warnings to stop. The Jaxon thought he would help him out by closing the door so I can't see what's going on. As if I can't hear the jumping. Spencer has really been doing his best lately to grate on every opne of my nerves, which is probably why I haven't taken too many pictures lately. He has gone completely back to diapers and refuses to even pee on the potty anymore since I got frustrated and threw his school chart in the garbage the other day. That is probably my fault, but I was really sick and tired of begging him to poop on the potty so he could get a sticker, especially when he would do really well for a few days so I knew he knew how! Arrg! For the last few weeks he has just been ignoring me or being defiant. I thought they weren't suppose to learn that yet! Anyway, I just needed a minute to vent. Any help out there for my defiant, non-potty trained 3 year old, who says he would like to be a baby?
On a positive note, I do have some pictures I need to post that are pretty cute on those rare good moments! I also have to still get some from family since while we were in Utah, I kept forgeting to bring my camera!

Okay, so I love LeeLou Blogs. I had to change my background when I saw she had come out with some new ones.
